C. M. Phares
Or perhaps better known as "Mart" died at Water Cure of Dr. Huphrey this morning aged 58 years. There was probably no one better known or liked than he. Two weeks ago taken with severe attack La. Gripp which turned into pneumonia. Born in Ohio May 1836 where remained with parents until about twelve years age. Family moved to Clinton, Ill. He attended school there then 1857 came to Galesburg. He attended Knox College for two years. When Civil War broke out enlisted Clinton. Survivors - two sisters, Mrs. H. L. Rowen of this city, Mrs. J. R. Conkling of Lincoln, Nebraska, one brother, A. R. Phares of Clinton, Ill. Funeral from home Sunday afternoon. G. A. R. will be in charge, conducted by P. H. Rogers 828 East Main St.Name - C. M. Pharis
